Fluent Support abilities, governed through the Bridge

An agent can triage a helpdesk queue: list and read support tickets, reply to or close them, tag and assign them, manage saved replies, search customers, and pull support activity and insight reports.

What has to be true first

Needs WordPress 6.9 or later with Fluent Support active and its MCP setting turned on. Each ability checks one of Fluent Support's own agent capabilities (for example fst_view_tickets or fst_manage_own_tickets), so which agent can use which ability depends on that agent's role inside Fluent Support rather than a core WordPress capability.

  • Fluent Support's MCP setting must be switched on by an administrator; it is off by default and the abilities never register until it is enabled.
  • A WordPress 6.9+ Abilities API and, for the plugin's own MCP server to also work, an MCP adapter (FluentHub or the MCP Adapter plugin) must be present, though the Bridge only needs the Abilities API.

A note on the count below

25 abilities read directly from the plugin's AbilitiesRegistrar definitions array, matching the directory's count of 25 exactly. Eleven of them (create, reply, close, reopen, update ticket, add note, assign, tag, create tag, create/update saved reply) carry no readonly annotation and either no destructive annotation at all or only an idempotent flag, so the Bridge's fail-safe rule classifies them as destructive even though most are ordinary write actions, not deletions.

How to switch these on

Four steps from two active plugins to a governed connection.

  1. Install Fluent Support and Agent Abilities for MCP

Both plugins need to be active on the same WordPress site. Fluent Support registers its own abilities; this plugin discovers and governs them.

  2. Open the Other plugins screen

In Agent Abilities for MCP, open the Bridge tab (labeled "Other plugins" in the admin). Abilities from every registered plugin appear there, grouped by the plugin that registered them.

  3. Enable one ability at a time

Every ability from Fluent Support starts off. Turn on only the ones you want an agent to reach, or enable the whole set in one click.

  4. Connect as a least-privilege user

Approve the connection as a WordPress account scoped to what you actually want the agent to do. Each call still re-checks that account’s capability before it runs.

Frequently asked questions

Does Fluent Support work with the Bridge?

Conditionally. Fluent Support only registers its 25 helpdesk abilities in the core Abilities API when the site operator turns on its own MCP setting (off by default); once that is on, the abilities sit in the core registry like any other plugin's and the Bridge can wrap them.

What has to be true for Fluent Support's abilities to register?

Fluent Support's MCP setting must be switched on by an administrator; it is off by default and the abilities never register until it is enabled.. A WordPress 6.9+ Abilities API and, for the plugin's own MCP server to also work, an MCP adapter (FluentHub or the MCP Adapter plugin) must be present, though the Bridge only needs the Abilities API..

Does Fluent Support need anything special to work with the Bridge?

Needs WordPress 6.9 or later with Fluent Support active and its MCP setting turned on. Each ability checks one of Fluent Support's own agent capabilities (for example fst_view_tickets or fst_manage_own_tickets), so which agent can use which ability depends on that agent's role inside Fluent Support rather than a core WordPress capability.
